Sources, coverage & methods
The drawings are the same source-derived architectural plans used in the hall explorer, including visible doors, closets and wall openings. We preserve their proportions. When the main room region agrees with the published dimension pair within 10% in aspect ratio, one uniform scale factor estimates its size. Crop margins are not treated as room dimensions. Otherwise the drawings are labeled illustrations without a shared physical scale. Some university sources are not to scale, so this is a planning aid, not a survey. The separate length × width calculation is a published-dimension rectangle estimate, not traced usable floor area.
Only rooms with one unambiguous pair of dimensions are included. Gray Court’s published default for doubles is included and labeled; the university qualifies it as “unless otherwise noted.” Rooms with added sections, irregular measurements, missing units, or obvious dimension errors are left out. Explicitly identified RA/staff and accessible rooms are also excluded from this comparison. A missing room or hall means we cannot make this particular comparison from the records we have.
